Letter from Gunnison Valley Pride Founder, Alex Stefan:

“I want to take a moment to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support and participation in Saturday’s Pride Picnic. I think we can all agree that it was hands down THE BEST ONE YET!

Such a great turn out, beautiful weather and so much community love. Events like this couldn’t happen without you all, and you didn’t just attend… you absolutely SHOWED UP. And the feedback from LGBTQ+ community members was so positive, they really felt the love and support from you all.

Thank you for showing us how “allyship” is a VERB by supporting the LGBTQ+ community with your actions and your presence this weekend.

If you have any questions or feedback, on ways we can grow and improve LGBTQ+ events in the coming year, ideas for Pride 2025, or ways you’d like to grow our rainbow community, we would love to hear from you! Also, if you or your organization took any pictures or video at any of our Pride events this weekend, please share them with us. We’d love to add them to our social media and website.

A HUGE thank you to The Majestic Theatre and CB Film Festival for putting on this year’s pride movie “ To Wong Foo… Thanks for Everything”. Another great turn out, and some wonderful donations that will go towards supporting LGBTQ+ youth in the valley.

A HUGE thank you to The Dive in Gunnison for hosting our first ever drag brunch. What an incredible event that turned out to be! If you missed it, you’ll definitely need to catch the next one. We laughed, we cried, we danced our butts off.

Thank you all again for everything you do for this community. There really is no community quite like the Gunnison Valley.”
